Thornhill Locks Added a new panoramic photo to the panoramic section in the photography section, the only thing that I think that spoils this shot is the shadow of me,when I get a better camera and a tripod I will go back an retake the shot.
Group shot of all the Towpath Tidy 2010 team Did my stint at the Towpath Tidy 2010 in Dewsbury today, About 20 of us turned up, A good mix of people all willing to get stuck in, The Asian lads were all doing this as part of there Duke of Edinburgh awards, They were only supposed to stay for an hour but enjoyed what they were doing and stayed all morning and left just before I did and they did a brilliant job, well done lads, Some of the group went up and prepared the locks at Thornhill Locks for the painting team to paint them. The canal side looks a hell of a lot better than it did a couple of weeks ago. Its a really satisfying job knowing you have helped clean up an area for the rest of the public to enjoy. I look forward to helping out again sometime. Louise went to town today with Oliver as it was a nice day and the sun was shining she popped into Boots and got Oliver some shades. How cool does he look. I took this picture on 8th January but didn't think much of it at the time, I dropped my camera in the snow and accidentally pressed the shutter while drying it off and this is what I got. I have just been going through my photos again and it just popped out at me so I thought I would post it. I have sent an email showing my interest in the Towpath Tidy 2010 in Dewsbury, I am just waiting for information and confirmation that I can help out, I thought it would be a good thing to go and help out because it does bug me seeing rubbish along the canal side when I walk the dog, I wonder if we will be getting rubbish out of the canal side too.
Really looking forward to it, I've never volunteered for anything like this before. |
