First day of my holiday and it's been a scorcher, so we decided to head off to Fairburn Ings, What a great day we've had and Oliver walked around Fairbun for the first time today, Louise spent about an hour waiting to photograph the Kingfishers but the camera had the small lens on so she did what she could with the small lens, In the meantime me and Oliver went for a walk along the nature trail, I was showing him spiders and other little beasties, he was quite interested. We saw a dead ladybird and Oliver was tutting at it and pointing we think he knew it wasn't well. He had a great time exploring the grounds. Louise had a great time brushing up on her camera skills and I had a great time showing Oliver all the wonderful things nature has to offer.
Oliver took two little steps today without being held.
It's two little steps for Oliver, Two giant steps for Mum and Dad. Oliver puzzles over a Tortoiseshell Caterpillar Whilst out walking Horace the other day I came across this Small Tortoiseshell Caterpillar and showed Oliver it he took great interest in it, I let him touch it gently with his finger, He laughed and said oah! Well it's just two weeks to the day and Oliver will be 1 year old, This year has gone really quickly, It doesn't seem like two minutes since he was born, He's had a busy year growing up and visiting a lot of places, The first few months he slept through most of the places we went to but now he stays awake and has a good look around, He loves it, For his birthday we are taking him to Flamingo Land, He's going to love it.. can't wait..
Olivers 1st tooth. On Sunday 2nd May Oliver got his first tooth through and since then he has bitten me and Louise, Well he's just getting used to it. Over the last few weeks we have been training Oliver to cheer with his arms in the air at the football in readiness for the World Cup, Yesterday he put up his arms when I asked him to and we cheer when he does, He has also taken notice of when football is on and says "ooh" when it's on and smiles, So the training is going well and he should be fit in time to watch the World Cup. We have also got him his first World Cup sticker album, He seemed quite excited with it when we were sticking the stickers in and hope that his Grandparents, Uncles & Aunties help him collect the stickers and fill it in with him. Oh and I've just been reminded that he can wave as well he learnt that today and last night while watching a program about lions he said Lion well it was Gion really but I knew what he ment. Took Oliver to Wilton park today, We got some good natural photos of him, here is just one of them. Got some action shots of a male Mallard washing itself, these are not perfectly sharp, the sun went in just as I got ready to take the photo so they are here just for interest.
The last two images are of a female Mallard. Oliver is 10 months old today, We took him to the Ponderosa Park in Heckmondwike, He enjoyed it, He talked to and touched some of the animals. They also have a beach area which was new to him, he kept eating the sand and we built him a sand castle. Here he is on a police bike rocker. |
