It looks like I will have to set up a new page just for this app.
I have finally got an iPhone 4 and have been downloading some photo apps to go with it, The one I like best is the Hipstamatic camera that produces some really cool retro looking photo effects.
It looks like I will have to set up a new page just for this app. Well I have to give the Nikon D200 back to my cousin for at least two weeks, I've enjoyed having it over the last month or so and did get some good shots that I just wouldn't have got with my compact camera. Having used the D200 has made my choice for my next camera easier to make, I like the total control you have with an SLR but I do like the compactness of a compact camera. I have been mulling over whether to get a Canon EOS 550D or a Panasonic Lumix GF-1, I have decided on the GF-1 but right now I just can't afford one but that is the way I'm going to go.
After seeing this article on the Outdoor Photography website about Avian Abstracts, I went back and took another look at the picture on the left and thought "It's not a bad shot after all". What do you think? We went to Tropical Butterfly House in North Anston, Sheffield today, They have got some nice birds there, a lot are just walking around and are quite tame, They have some little tiny goats that we fell in love with and wanted to smuggle a couple out under our coats but thought it might look a bit sus so we changed our minds. You can see 18 of the 248 pictures that I took in the Tropical Butterfly House section in my photographs. Sunrise over Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury I could have punched the whining dog at 6 am this morning but I didn't, good karma pays. My cousin has kindly lent me a Nikon D200 and two lenses, It feels strange being in control of the camera again after using a point and shoot for the last 5 years or so. I went out with it this morning although the lighting was terrible and did leave me with a few problems, but I still managed to get a couple of shots that were ok. The one below of the daffodil is probably the most successful shot of the day. I did a bit of quick editing on it, I think it kinda works but I am also thinking that the daffodil could do with being over to the the right. I will go back tomorrow to take the picture again.
I should also mention that my cousin is a photographer of live events and gigs you can see his work at Mutant Rock Photography he also does portrait photography and you can see his work at Michael Walker Photography. Saw this Toad while out walking Horace this morning. It was confirmed by Lynne at BBC Springwatch that this is a Toad and not a frog as I thought. |
