My cousin has kindly lent me a Nikon D200 and two lenses, It feels strange being in control of the camera again after using a point and shoot for the last 5 years or so. I went out with it this morning although the lighting was terrible and did leave me with a few problems, but I still managed to get a couple of shots that were ok. The one below of the daffodil is probably the most successful shot of the day. I did a bit of quick editing on it, I think it kinda works but I am also thinking that the daffodil could do with being over to the the right. I will go back tomorrow to take the picture again.
I should also mention that my cousin is a photographer of live events and gigs you can see his work at Mutant Rock Photography he also does portrait photography and you can see his work at Michael Walker Photography. Saw this Toad while out walking Horace this morning. It was confirmed by Lynne at BBC Springwatch that this is a Toad and not a frog as I thought. Went to see them last night at the O2 Academy in Leeds, 1st time I had seen them live, Before I went I thought I would be the only one there that didn't know anything they had done but as they started I began to recognise some of the songs and in the end I knew more than I thought I did. It was a good gig and the crowd was good too, they where very passionate about SLF. At the end of the gig we went to get some t-shirts, I asked for a kids t-shirt and the guy asked how old? I said 9 months, i mean 10 months, He looked at me and 9-10 months? the smallest we've got is 3-4 years, I said that will do as long as he's got one! then a cheer went up around me and call of nice one get him in early. I felt so proud and walked away with a huge smile on my face.
I took some photos on my iPhone that you can see below. The Towpath Tidy I went on made it in the local paper, Shame I didn't make it in the photo though. Lets hope more people see it and think about joining us on the next tidy. Anew panoramic photo has been added, On this one I used a tripod and took 19 separate photos and joined them together in Photoshop. I normally take the photos hand held. Oliver is 10 months old today, We took him to the Ponderosa Park in Heckmondwike, He enjoyed it, He talked to and touched some of the animals. They also have a beach area which was new to him, he kept eating the sand and we built him a sand castle. Here he is on a police bike rocker. Back in 2007 a bomb shelter was unearthed after a factory was demolished in Dewsbury, We went to investigate, you can see the photographs in my Photography section by clicking the image left. |
