We went up the riverside trail, he fell asleep and I noticed a tree that had what looked like spider webs at first till I got a close look and saw they were Caterpillar nests, The tree was full of them, below are a few of the shots I got of the nests.
Me and Oliver had a father and son day out today and we went to Fairburn Ings Nature reserve, He loved it looking through the viewing hole in the hides pointing and waving at all the birds bless him. We went up the riverside trail, he fell asleep and I noticed a tree that had what looked like spider webs at first till I got a close look and saw they were Caterpillar nests, The tree was full of them, below are a few of the shots I got of the nests. I've got more photos from my day at Fairburn Ings but they will have to wait till tomorrow now before I put them up.
Well it's just two weeks to the day and Oliver will be 1 year old, This year has gone really quickly, It doesn't seem like two minutes since he was born, He's had a busy year growing up and visiting a lot of places, The first few months he slept through most of the places we went to but now he stays awake and has a good look around, He loves it, For his birthday we are taking him to Flamingo Land, He's going to love it.. can't wait..
Olivers 1st tooth. On Sunday 2nd May Oliver got his first tooth through and since then he has bitten me and Louise, Well he's just getting used to it. Over the last few weeks we have been training Oliver to cheer with his arms in the air at the football in readiness for the World Cup, Yesterday he put up his arms when I asked him to and we cheer when he does, He has also taken notice of when football is on and says "ooh" when it's on and smiles, So the training is going well and he should be fit in time to watch the World Cup. We have also got him his first World Cup sticker album, He seemed quite excited with it when we were sticking the stickers in and hope that his Grandparents, Uncles & Aunties help him collect the stickers and fill it in with him. Oh and I've just been reminded that he can wave as well he learnt that today and last night while watching a program about lions he said Lion well it was Gion really but I knew what he ment. In the post below I was trying to put a post using my iPhone but I couldn't type anything in the Blog post widget as this part is a flash element.

It's been seven weeks since I helped out with the Towpath Tidy at Dewsbury, We got quite a lot of rubbish out of the half mile stretch we cleaned, Very pleased we all were too. Today I drove past and noticed that some low life scumbag has dumped a few bags of rubbish containing foam and cloth at the side of the canal, I will be reporting this to the council and British Waterways and hopefully the parasites that dumped it are so thick that they may have left some evidence behind so that they can be prosecuted. Well I have to give the Nikon D200 back to my cousin for at least two weeks, I've enjoyed having it over the last month or so and did get some good shots that I just wouldn't have got with my compact camera. Having used the D200 has made my choice for my next camera easier to make, I like the total control you have with an SLR but I do like the compactness of a compact camera. I have been mulling over whether to get a Canon EOS 550D or a Panasonic Lumix GF-1, I have decided on the GF-1 but right now I just can't afford one but that is the way I'm going to go.

We entered into the famous Rubber Duck Race but didn't win, It was fun at least and quite funny how grown ups get excited about a rubber duck floating down a river. At lot more things did happen but I'm just too tired to go into it right now, I have a few photos to sort out too. We are back in Marsden tomorrow to see the horse drawn narrowboat on the canal. I don't think I will have time to update tomorrow either as we have to goto my parents so they can see Oliver. So thats it for now till I get time to update. Went back to Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve on Saturday, I had hoped to get some pictures of some Kingfishers but we didn't see any, There were other photographers there and they didn't get any either. We did see some Coots building a nest, that was nice to see, I took loads of pictures of other Coots and there young but they weren't that good, Got some nice photos of Louise and Oliver watching the adult Coots feeding there young. Also got a good shot of a Mallard that Louise told me to take, I wasn't going to take one because I have loads of shots of Mallards. I also got an action shot of a Mallard taking off.
